The Formula has always been run by a band of true Motor Sport enthusiasts. This has ensured that it never deviated from its original objective. To provide close competitive racing , at an affordable cost, in real racing cars.
The idea behind Formula Vee was born in the United States of America. It all began when Hubert Brundage conceived the idea of a single seater racing car, powered by Volkswagen Beetle engine and using a number of other Volkswagen components.
The first prototype was built by Enrico Nardi in 1959. Based on his idea, other cars were built. From these humble beginnings, the Formula spread across the United States and the rest of the world, arriving in Sweden in 1964-1965.
Every year there is this cart serie with these old Formula Vee cars. You compete in two different classes. One is up to 1968, and one from 1969 to 1972. The cars compete together, in the same race, but awarded a price separately.
